Considerations
For Planning A Beach/Shore Wedding
Compliments

- Always have an alternate ceremony
site in case of inclement weather -- you'll want to move your
ceremony indoors. Be sure that the alternate ceremony site is
nearby to the original beach site so guests can be told upon arrival
where to go. Your wedding planner will arrange for this to be
done, providing guests with directions. Also, your planner would
contact your vendors and officiant letting them know the change.
- If the ceremony is directly on the sand, you may want to mention
in your invitations that the "ceremony is directly on the
beach, so please dress accordingly". Many people do not
like to wear their evening gowns or expensive suits and shoes
on the sand.
- When ordering flowers for the ceremony site, check with the
florist to make sure they can sustain strong heat/high temperatures
and windy conditions. You don't want to get to your ceremony
and find out all your flowers have wilted or the petals were all
blown off the stems because of the ocean breeze.
- If you're having any type of archway or covering, confirm with
the rental agency or florist that they will put spikes in the
sand to hold it down in case of wind.
