Engagement Story:
Nick took Jeannette to Il Piccolo Fiorno, an Italian restaurant in Long Branch, NJ. Jeannette thought they were going to celebrate their recent 1yr and 7 month Anniversary. Nick suggested Il Piccolo, because they had gone there for their First Month Anniversary. The ambiance is wonderful, as the owner sings Italian favorites, and the food is delicious. Nick had not expected the restaurant to be full. However, on this 78 degree first of November at 7:30pm, many were dining out. When they arrived, Nick began a sequence of unusual events. He excused himself from the table twice by the time the appetizers arrived...Jeannette was concerned...He returned and immediately said, 'I'll be right back,' now Jeannette was curious and a little perturbed until he returned with his guitar. She exclaimed, 'Wow you are really going to make this a special anniversary!' He gave a sly look and said yes. He had asked the owner if he could sing his girlfriend a song. He sang, 'O Sole Mio,' (O Sun of Mine); the noisy diners began to take notice and hushed. Jeannette, filled with admiration and sentimentality, began to cry as she listened to Nick play. Then, in a flash, she realized there was a video camera taping this event (Nick planned very well, engaging his friend, Farra to video tape.) Jeannette's knees began to quiver. Nick finished the song to thunderous applause and as he pulled out a box from his pocket, a collective gasp came from the crowd. Jeannette began to weep as, bent on one knee, Nick expressed his devotion. She said yes!
