Engagement Story:
Max took Erica (for her birthday) and her parents (for their anniversary) to an Off-Broadway Play in NYC, 'I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.' Towards the end of the play, Max excused himself as he was complaining about stomach pains all day..., he never returned??? At the end of the play, the cast of four came out for their final curtain call and began to speak to the audience. In the middle of their speech, one of the cast members pointed down to Erica and asked, 'Where did the guy that was sitting next to you go? Was his name Max Resnick?' Erica dumbfounded, did not say a word... with that, Max walked out from behind the curtain with a long stem red rose in one hand and a box in the other. Erica was full of confusion and emotion as she saw Erica, Max's sister, who sneaked in during the second act along with Max's parents, taking pictures from her left, and her mother, (who had been carrying around a camera for the past 2 weeks since Max had asked Erica's parents their permission) from the right. Max walked to the front of the stage and tossed the rose to Erica who was sitting in the second row and said: 'This may be a little sooner than you expected, but when you meet the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you want that life to begin as soon as possible. Ever since I met you I've been smiling, and I don't ever want to stop. You're the most intelligent, loving, caring, witty, and beautiful person I know. I love everything about you, you 're perfect in every way, and no matter what these people say, I never want you to change. I promise to honor, love, and make you smile the rest of our lives together. Erica Scotto, will you marry me?' Max then came down from the stage... there was a standing ovation from the crowd... and eventually a yes from Erica....
