Caterers in the Park To Feed Healthcare Workers Through Mid-May
(Belleville, NJ) – Today, Joe Maurillo, Barry Maurillo, and Vito Cucci, Owners of Nanina's in the
Park, Park Chateau, and The Park Savoy, announced that they would continue their
commitment to area hospitals and healthcare workers by extending their feeding program
through at least the middle of May. Discroll Foods (Wayne, NJ) and A&J Produce (Bronx, NY)
also contributed food towards this effort.
At present, the catering leaders have provided a combined approximately 2,000 meals per
week – delivered twice per week – to St. Barnabas Medical Center, Clara Maass Medical Center,
and the Morristown Medical Center. In lieu of meals, they've also made a financial donation to
Hackensack Meridian Health. Likewise, they are providing food and meals to local area Police
Departments.
Joe Maurillo, Barry Maurillo, and Vito Cucci said jointly:
"Despite the incredible financial loss that the catering and wedding industry has taken due to
the COVID-19 crisis, we believe that our community is at its strongest when we stand together.
Our healthcare workers are on the front lines of this pandemic, risking their lives daily to care
for those stricken with this terrible virus. By keeping our healthcare workers fed and healthy,
they can, in turn, work to flatten the curve, take care of hundreds of patients, and put us on the
path to normality. The sooner we can do that, the sooner we can open our venues and get back
to celebrating people's most cherished days.
'
Nanina's in the Park, Park Chateau, and The Park Savoy thank all our incredible employees who
themselves are working to feed our front line and essential employees, and we look forward to
seeing our patrons and guests as soon as it's safe."
