Four ways to preserve your wedding day memories | Nanina's In The Park

We’ve all heard about the bride that saves her wedding bouquet or the couple who saves that last piece of wedding cake, but your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion that has so many wonderful moments that it’s just not possible to be everywhere at once!

So have you really thought about how you’re going to preserve your experience in a truly tangible way that you can look back upon in the years to come? Don’t overlook any facet of your celebration and use these tips to ensure that you can remember every detail of your special day.

1. Coordinate closely with your photographer
Most professional wedding photographers have a keen eye for photo-worthy moments, but he or she won’t be able to capture everything without direct instructions from you. If for instance you’d like extensive pictures of your décor, your guests signing your guestbook or artistic shots of your wedding bouquet, these are ideas that you should be sure to communicate to your photographer to get the perfect shots you’ve always dreamed of.

2. Be on the lookout for scrapbook inspiration
If you’re the kind of person who loves to scrapbook and repurpose specific mementos into dazzling retrospectives, make sure you plan ahead! Set aside a basket or another small container to hold placecards, dried flowers, menus and anything else you’d like to save from your special day that will make for fabulous scrapbook inspiration!

3. Appoint a video expert
Video is just as important a factor to your ceremony as wedding photos, so enlist the help of a friend or relative to capture the special moments of your ceremony like speeches, the first dance and your grand entrance! You may just find yourself looking back on those special moments years down the line.

4. Repurpose your wedding décor
The easiest way to hold onto your wedding memories is to walk by them every day by turning décor, apparel and other mementos into decorations in your home. Take a bit of lace from your dress and create an artistic print on your wall, frame your wedding invitations or create a collage of all the best pictures and small accents from your special day. It will help you and your significant other look back fondly on your wedding day and provide a dazzling new addition to your home!
