The Cleaning Stage

Ornamentation. Certain ornamentation such as appliques will be removed prior to cleaning. After pictures are taken, the adornments are carefully taken off. (Once the gown is cleaned and finished, the images are then used for proper placement so they can be reattached.) Other trimmings such as beads and sequins will be tested. Even the most gentle of solvents can have an adverse reaction causing damage or discoloration.

Did you know? Most clothing care labels are placed onto garments prior to any embellishments. Therefore, the item may not hold up as promised during the ‘recommended’ cleaning process.

Get Down to the Dirt. Hallak Cleaners' spotting specialists carefully pre-treat stains such as the hem and underarms. Depending on the fabric and trimmings, the gown will then be cleaned in one of our five solvents. All wedding gowns are also treated with a trademarked anti-sugar process; it helps prevent sugar stains such as champagne from yellowing over the years.
