I bring my easel, supplies, and a blank stretched canvas to your wedding site, set up before guests arrive, and paint the wedding itself LIVE throughout your reception! This adds an elegant, memorable touch for you and your guests, and leaves you with a precious heirloom. I can paint the scene of your choice (ceremony, first dance, etc) or choose the scene myself. I paint the scene live in front of guests at the reception and leave the finished piece with you that night!
Capture the romance in the most timeless way - paint! I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and I've been a professional painter for 20 years, as well as an art educator. I love to paint live! Engaging with guests while I work is enjoyable and allows me to share the beauty of capturing our lives on canvas with others.
I do travel anywhere in New Jersey, as well as some areas in New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware. I carry insurance which most venues require, and I work closely with the venue to ensure a smooth set up / break down with no disruptions on your special day.

My tropical beach themed wedding was completely ruined by the tropical storm, "Ophelia." Julia completely captured the feeling of our day through the painting. She painted these gorgeous storm clouds with parts of the sky showing the sunlight to capture the warmth and love of that day. Which reminds me of the essence of our wedding day...no matter the weather, love will always bring you light. She was flexible, accountable, and the upmost professional vendor.

When wedding planning, hiring a live painter was one of the few things my husband and I disagreed on. He wasn't sure if it was worth the extra cost, but boy did Julia prove him wrong! The piece of art she created is absolutely stunning, she was kind and conscientious to work with, and guests were in awe of the spectacle of her painting it right there at the reception. My husband and I were on the fence about hiring a live wedding painter but I am SO glad we did! Our guests were very impressed and we have a beautiful canvas painting of our first dance to treasure forever.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Julia throughout the whole process. She took the time to research our venue and made suggestions on different moments that could be captured. On the day of the wedding, she arrived early to assess the layout/lighting and to set up before the guests arrived. She worked on the background during the ceremony/cocktail hour and then was able to finalize the scene during reception.
After our wedding, she took the painting back to her studio to put on the finishing touches. It was ready to pick up so quickly that we weren't even back from our honeymoon yet! Most other vendors we had spoken with needed a couple weeks to finish!
We are so happy with our decision to work with Julia. We highly recommend her for weddings or other special events!
